Mike
is originally from Bushnell, Illinois.
He graduated from Bushnell Prairie City High School, and
the University of Illinois, where he earned a Bachelor of
Science Degree in Agriculture in 1969, and a Jurist Doctorate
Degree in 1972.
He
is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois State Bar
Association, McLean County Bar Association, Illinois Trial Lawyers
Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America.
Mike has served twice on the McLean County Bar
Association’s Board of Directors.
He
is one of four organizers of the Robert Underwood Inn of Court,
a peer group organization which promotes the enhancement of
trial skills. He
has served as Secretary- Treasurer, Vice President and President
and he is a Master of the Bench.
Mike
has served on the State Bar Section Council on Tort Law and
edited their news-letter, Tort Trends, for six years.
He has also written for the Southern Illinois University
Law Review.
Mike
and his wife Shirley live in Heyworth, Illinois. They have two daughters, Mary and Sarah.
He
raises Southdown sheep and is the Past President of the McLean
County Sheep Producers and the Illinois
Lamb & Wool Producers.
Mike
has coached youth softball and taught CCD class at St.
Patrick’s Church in Wapella, Illinois.
